Over £30 million raised for 16 cleantech businesses
Managed a Low Carbon Incubator working with a wide range of businesses developing renewables – microwind, solar, biomass & biofuels and marine – and energy efficiency technologies – demand management, fuel cells, innovative chemical processes and high efficiency motors. Helped companies develop their business plans, teams and routes to market. In total, the 16 companies supported raised over £30m whilst in the incubator.
The right strategy and partners for a wave energy company
A wave energy company was struggling to raise finance and secure partners. Reviewed their plans, market and capabilities and developed a new strategy and business model that was right for the company and compelling for investors and partners. Also supported their negotiations with utilities and investors. The
company secured a development contract with a European utility and raised several £millions.
Sizing and tackling the Cleantech market
Worked with a university start-up to assess a key market for its products and identify suitable partners. Also helped the company develop its hiring plan – identifying and specifying roles. The company achieved an AIM float within 12 months, raising over £10m.
Corporate growth into International low carbon markets
Worked hands-on with a £100m revenue business to rollout their core, low carbon services to markets in US and Asia. Work included understanding key markets, developing business plans and financial models, negotiation support and project implementation.
